Awudua (W/R), Jan 26, GNA - The Apinto Traditional Council has donated assorted drugs and hospital beds costing GH?41,000.00 in support of two health facilities - Apinto Government Hospital and Awudua Community Health Centre.
Nana Kobina Angu II, Chief of Apinto, and the Gyaasehene, Nana Dr Adarkwa Bediako II, jointly handed over the items at a ceremony at Awudua.
They said the drugs were made available by the Entrance Pharmaceuticals and Tobinco Group of Companies.
The chiefs expressed they were confident that these would help improve the quality of care for patients.
Health care delivery in the area, they noted, was facing a lot of challenges and the intervention of the council was meant to complement the government’s efforts.
Dr.Frank Berdu Ansah, Medical Superintendent of the Apinto Government hospital, said the facility was struggling with lack inadequate beds and drugs.
The donation was therefore a welcomed relief and could not have come at a better time.
He appealed to individuals and organization to help provide the hospital with the needed medical equipment and supplies to enhance the quality of care.
