Accra, Dec. 9, GNA - The Advanced Business College, in collaboration with the Association of Business Management and Administration, United Kingdom, would begin a certificate course in practical life skills for the populace.
The course will sharpen the knowledge and skills of participants to manage their activities in an effective and efficient manner.
Mrs Petrina E. Ampiah, the Principal of the College, announced this in Accra at the weekend during the third graduation ceremony of the College.
Twenty-three students graduated after pursuing Degree and Diploma programmes in Management Studies and Graphic Design.
Mrs Ampiah said the College had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the British Council as an approved centre for the Aptis English testing programme.
She said the Institution was positioned strategically to improve its growth rate in providing more courses to meet industry needs.
As part of community service, the College would launch a mentorship project to assist the youth in its vicinity, she said.
Mr Ebenezer K. Ampiah, the College President, in a speech read on his behalf, said the institution was determined to consolidate its position as one of the leading tertiary institutions for Graphic Design and Management Studies.
He said the College had continuously sought to produce graduates who were all-round in their fields of study and well prepared for the job market.
"We will do everything possible to ensure that our graduates can effectively compete on the job market," he said, and that the College would continue place emphasis on professional development and enhancement.
He urged the graduate to be creative and give out their best in their fields of work.
Mr David Morey, the Guest of Honour, advised the graduates to uphold the tenets of integrity in all aspects of their lives in order to be successful.
The College, named after Professor Jacob S. Arku, the first Council Chair, for his contribution to the growth of the school.
Ms Saratu Salifu emerged the overall best student, graduating with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Science in Management Studies.
She thanked the College for imparting knowledge to the students and pledged to execute the skills acquired to the benefit of society.
