Koforidua (E/R) Dec 5, GNA – The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly has planned to surprise farmers in the municipality on the National Farmers Day on Friday.
This was disclosed by the Municipal Director of Agriculture, Mr Kofi Tweneboah in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Koforidua.
However he failed to disclosed in what form the surprise would take.
Mr Tweneboah said this is the first time; that the newly created New Juaben South Municipal Assembly would be celebrating the Day and the Assembly is ready to surprise the farmer’s.
Mr Solomon Attipoe, the Municipal Crop Officer said 14 farmers would be rewarded on the day for their efforts.
Mr Attipoe said as part of activities to mark the day, the farmers would be educated on how to get good market for their farm produce.
He said about 300 farmers are expected to be at the Nyamekrom D /A JHS Park where the day would be observed.
Mr Attipoe appealed to all the chiefs and people in the municipality to come in their numbers to support the cerebration.
