Accra, Oct. 12, GNA - Staff of the United Bank for Africa (Ghana) Limited were taken through a healthy exercise to mark their third Jogging exercise and games.
The event organized by the Bank on quarterly basis to boost the health of staff and encourage bonding was on the theme: “UBA Mini Olympics” held at Laboma Beach Resort.
A statement issued in Accra by the organisers said prior to the games, staff from the 19 business offices of the Bank in Accra embarked on a jogging exercise along the coast of the beach and later performed vigorous but fun filled aerobics.
It said staff competed in sporting disciplines including football, penalty shoot-outs, sack race, lime and spoon and board games.
“The motivation behind organizing games like this is to bring together all staff of the bank as one family and to put them in good shape and it has over the years presented a platform for Staff to actively interact with one another, make renew friends and also increase productivity by ensuring a healthy staff base,” Mr. Soni Anwal, DMD of UBA Ghana.
He said “I know our work effort and results can be furthered using healthy exercises like this to rejuvenate ourselves, refresh our mindsets for innovative ways to constantly improve our services and add value to our customers and always”.
He also used the opportunity to congratulate and celebrate winners of the ‘Most Customer Centric Staff’ contest during the Customer Service Week.
He called on staff to continue with the superior customer service experience being offered at their various branches.
He reiterated the importance of UBA’s core values: Enterprise, Excellence and Execution which should continue to be a way of life for every staff.
The fun games were simultaneously organized in all regions, where UBA operated.
