She said diseases detected very early cost less in treatment than diseases which were not detected early and may even cause death.
Miss Lutterodt made the call when the NGO organized free deworming exercise for children at Alajo and its environs in Accra on Saturday.
She said the exercise formed part of the NGO’s ‘’Worm free Project’’ which was aimed at offering free deworming for children under 12 years in the deprived communities and also create awareness of worm infestation.
Miss Lutterodt said so far the NGO had offered free deworming to about more than 6,000 children since inception of the project.
She said Cradle to Crayon Ghana had extended the exercise to Bukom, Madina and Korle Gonno and that the more deprived communities in the Greater Accra Region would be treated.
The Project Co-ordinator advised Ghanaians to keep their surroundings clean in order not to contract diseases.
School bags, mosquito nets, clothes, shoes as well as food supplements were distributed to the children.
