Hampshire (United Kingdom), Aug. 4, GNA – His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, has urged believers to pray for protection against worldly distractions.
He said mankind has replaced the true God with numerous worldly things, leading them away from their true purpose.
He said: “Believers pray for protection against worldly distractions, which are equivalent to hell fire.”
His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V, was delivering his opening address at the 52nd Annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Hampshire here in the United Kingdom.
The Annual event also known as Jalsa Salana of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK, is a unique event that brings more than 35,000 participants from over 100 countries.
The three-day event, which starts from Friday, August 3 and ends on Sunday, August 5, is to increase religious knowledge and promote a sense of peace and brotherhood among Ahmadi Muslim.
The Spiritual Leader said some people were aware of the sin they have committed, while others were not and explained that it was the reason why God Almighty commanded them to always seek forgiveness.
“We have no weapon or worldly powers except the sincere prayers to God Almighty for the general benefit of Mankind,” he added.
He said in recent times Muslims were thirsty for the blood of their fellow Muslims and even innocent children, adding that Ahmadi Muslims must continue to pray that God does not cause their hearts to be prevented after being guided.
A number of Parliamentarians, Civic Leaders and Diplomats from different countries would address the gathering and underline the convention's objective of enhancing unity, understanding and mutual respect.
The highlight of the event would be a mass pledge of allegiance to the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslims, and that would commit his followers to an absolute devotion to peace.
His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V, who is the fifth successor of the Promised Messiah benevolent leadership, provides the community with unity, guidance and direction, ensuring that it remains devoted to God and to the service of humankind.
The Jalsa features exhibitions about the community's international activities and other educational stands. Special guided tours are also available.
He places his hand on top of the hands of those sitting immediately in front of him and others put their hands on the shoulders of these people, thereby making a continuous link of chain with the Khalifa.
As this chain extends out, the entire gathering is connected with the Khalifa.
Members pledge allegiance to the peaceful teachings of Islam and to the Khalifa's leadership of the community, thereby reaffirming their commitment to the remembrance of God and the service of humanity.
