Tema, May 28, GNA - Anthony Appiah scored 35 points to win this year’s Celebrity Captain’s Prize Open Golf Championship played at Sakumono, over the weekend.
He was followed by Teye Lartey-Gberbie with 35 points, while Kusi Ohemeng placed third with 31 points.
In the Group ‘B’ segment, Joseph Tieku came first with 39 points, while Felix Akuamoah took the second position with 35 points, beating Daniel Addo on count-back.
In the Ladies category, Floura Hurtubise emerged champion with 37 points, veteran Mona Captan Myles-Lamptey took the second position with 36 points, while Maureen Akuako placed third with 32 points.
Helen Appah won the Group ‘B’ event with 35 points, Peace Akwei came second with 26 points while Angelica Ayanful placed third with 24 points.
The one-day 18-Hole event which was opened to amateur golfers throughout the country, was sponsored by Mr Mark Peverette, captain of the Celebrity Golf Club.
Mr Peverette commended the participants for the sportsmanship exhibited throughout the game and urged them to take active interest in the activities of their respective clubs.
