Accra, April 9, GNA – Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Christopher Darkey, coach of Police Ladies Football Club, has said, the aim of his team, is to win their first ever league title this year.
Police Ladies have never won the National Women’s League (NWL) and they hope to win this year’s league for the first time, following a 2-0 home win over Soccer Intellectuals at the Teshie MATS Park in their first match of the 2017/18 FreshPak NWL.
Speaking to the media after their victory, he said, their opponents were not a bad side and he knew he was going to meet a tough team, therefore prepared adequately for them.
“Intellectuals is not a bad side and we know they are going to give us a bad time so we prepared for that match.
“Our major challenge was how to break their defence and score, but we persevered and succeeded in putting two goals behind them.
“It was a very important win for us, more especially for our title aspirations this season.
“We are going to work hard on the rest of our matches.
“We also want to win FA Cup as well. The task is huge but we shall overcome.”
