Ayikuma (GAR), April 3, GNA — The Reverend James Sai, Madina Regional Head of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has called on Christians to live above reproach and refrain from corruption and other deviant behaviours inimical to the growth and development of the nation.
He urged them to live in the fullness of God and co-exist peacefully since Christ had laid his life in atonement for the sins of mankind.
Rev. Sai gave the advice at the end of the Church’s Easter Retreat at Ayikuma, near Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region.
He said for the country to progress, Christians had a role to play by desisting from negative practices such as littering the environment, which impeded growth.
Rev. Sai described Easter as a historical event that should constantly remind Christians about the Resurrection of Christ and how powerful it was to transform the lives of individuals and nations.
He attributed the socio-economic woes of the country to the rush for money, especially by Christians, who should rather seek their spiritual well-being.
Rev. Sai said the Church had established a kindergarten to provide the basic educational needs for children and expressed the hope that it would open a vocational training institute to train the youth in skills to make them self-reliant.
He urged the youth to desist from negative tendencies that may ruin their future aspirations.
Rev. Sai commended the Government for implementing the Free Senior High School Policy, saying it would offer hope for the hopeless.
