Kumasi, Feb 26, GNA – The Ashanti Regional Police Command has been presented with vehicle tyres valued at GH¢ 8,800.00 to aid its operations.
These were a donation from Mr. Samuel Opoku Mensah, a trader at the Adum Central Business District.
Presenting the tyres at a ceremony, he said it was his contribution to the crime fight.
He pointed out that providing the police with the needed equipment and tools to keep the society safe should be the responsibility of everybody, adding that, it should not be left to the government alone.
Commissioner of Police (COP) Ken Yeboah, the Regional Commander, who was on hand to receive the gift said they were grateful for the gesture.
He underlined their resolve to work hard and with commitment to provide security protection for the people and called for those who had chosen to live outside the law to reform in their own interest.
COP Yeboah said the donation would without doubt boost the morale of officers and men as it symbolized public confidence.
