Accra, Feb. 16, GNA – Four insurance brokers in Ghana in partnership with the Programme for Sustainable Economic Development (PSED) of the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) are organising a week-long sensitisation programme for the Ghanaian populace on the importance of risk management in life.
The insurance dealers are the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA), the Ghana Insurance Brokers Association (GIBA), the National Insurance Commission (NIC) and the Insurance Awareness Coordinators Group of Ghana (IACG).
The sensitisation programme is a project, which would be run concurrently on 21 radio stations across the country between February 19 and 24, 2018.
A statement issued by the Insurance Group and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, on Friday, said the live radio interaction with the public would enable the populace to get real time education on the best options for managing unforeseen life perils in Ghana.
It said consumers would have the rare opportunity to interact with risk-management experts, fund managers and underwriters to share their thoughts and explain insurance issues to them.
It said: “The uniqueness of this project is that consumers get the opportunity to speak to experts who will be on radio for live interaction, through phone-in approach.
“All that a listener needs to do is to phone in and ask questions that remain critical or unclear, in the area of risk management or insurance. The radio hosts will in turn ask panel of experts to respond accordingly.”
The 21 radio stations partnering the insurance industry and GIZ Ghana to carry out this novelty kind of insurance education and consumer protection are as follows.
