Konongo-Odumase (Ash), Feb 09, GNA - The Asante-Akim Central Municipal Assembly has supplied 40 computers to two basic schools – Bomireso M/A and KOSS Model ‘B’ Primary Schools.
These came together with computer desks and the total cost was put at GH¢ 120,000.00.
They were procured from the Urban Development Grant, part of which was used to build additional classroom blocks for the beneficiary schools.
Mrs. Susan Akomeah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said this was to help strengthen the teaching and learning of information and communication technology (ICT).
She added that it was time every child had access to computers to avoid being left behind by globalization.
She underlined the determination of the assembly to put more investment into ICT infrastructure in schools.
Mrs. Akomeah said their goal was not only to make sure that there was access but that there was also quality.
She reminded the beneficiary schools to put the computers to good use and to see to it that they were properly handled.
The Reverend Stephen Yeboah, the Bomireso Circuit Supervisor, applauded the assembly for the gesture and asked that this was extended to other schools.
