Sunyani, Dec. 27, GNA – Reverend Gabriel Madjitey, Minister in-charge of the Unity Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at ‘Area Four’, a suburb in Sunyani has urged Ghanaians to use the yuletide to resolve misunderstandings and differences among themselves.
That, he said, would make the birth of Jesus Christ really significant
He said the birth of Jesus Christ was beneficial to humanity, because through Him mankind was reconciled with God.
The Reverend Minister gave the advice in a sermon on the theme “The Birth of Jesus Christ has Reconciled Us to God,” at a Church service on the Christmas Day.
He said man at the beginning of creation was separated from God because of sin, but by God’s own mercy through the birth and death of Jesus Christ, man was redeemed and restored to God.
Rev. Madjitey said it was, therefore, an obligation and incumbent on anyone or group of people to bury their differences and forge ahead in love and unity for the progress of the country and appealed to the Judiciary and other state institutions mandated to dispense justice to administer that with equity and fairness as there could never be reconciliation without justice.
Rev. Madjitey expressed concern that a greater percentage of Ghanaians professed to be Christians, but were unable to impact the society with Christian values of love, unity, honesty, truth, peace and hard work.
He urged Christians to effectively apply those values wherever they found themselves to impact the society and suggested to the President, Ministers, Parliamentarians, traditional and religious leaders and all those in responsible positions to eschew ethnocentrism, nepotism, favouritism and partiality to the background and execute their duties without fear or favour.
