Akim Oda (E/R), Dec 20, GNA - Ms. Rejoice Biscoff, Birim Central Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has called for everybody to support the government’s job creation agenda by paying their taxes.
They should accept to voluntarily comply with their tax obligations to help more revenue for development.
She was addressing a tax education campaign held by the Commission together with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) at Akim Oda.
Ms. Biscoff said the government needed money to build schools, hospitals, roads, extend electricity and provide other vital social services and this would have to come through taxes.
She added that it was a civil duty of the people to pay tax on the income they had been earning.
Dodging tax payment, she said was a breach of the law and not a noble thing to do by anybody.
