Kumasi, Dec 04, GNA – Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) has launched its new product - “Odehye3” beer with a pledge to use part of the sales to supply potable water to deprived communities.
Mr. Gavin Pike, the Managing Director (MD), said for every bottle of the beer sold, a dedicated amount would be put into a special fund, just for this purpose – to give back to society.
Seventy (70) per cent of the raw materials for its production is locally sourced.
This, the MD said, tied in with the government’s agenda of adding value to the nation’s agricultural produce.
He added that, this without doubt was going to help provide sustainable livelihoods for the local farmer.
Mr. Gabriel Opoku Asare, the Corporate Relations Director, said the decision to source 70 per cent of raw materials locally, was a significant milestone.
It showed an unwavering commitment of the company towards improving the lives of the Ghanaian farmer.
Ms. Melanie Ramsey, Marketing and Innovations Director, spoke of the uniqueness of the beer and said it had been brewed to the highest quality standard from carefully selected raw materials.
The big bottle – 625 milligrams goes for GH?3.50 with the small bottle (300ml) selling at GH? 2.50
