Apostle Dr. Goldman made the call at the launch of a 138 page historical book titled “Our Conquering King” in Winneba at a special Church Service held at the Ebenezer Methodist Church Winneba.
The book’s theme was picked from the seconded stanza of Charles Wesley’s Head of the Church Triumphant, a favourite hymn of the Late Rev. S. Q. E. Ghartey which reads “The name we still acknowledge, that bursts our bonds in sunder, and loudly sing Our Conquering King, in songs of joy and wonder, in every day’s deliverance Our Jesus we discover; Tis he, tis he that smote the sea and let us safely over!.
Mrs. Mary Parker Ghartey, wife of the late Rev. Ghartey co-authored the book with Apostle Dr. Goldman. The book sought to immortalize the life and works of Reverend Samuel Quamina Ebenezer Ghartey in the service of God until he passed on.
The book also, is to encourage people to live for Christ and to inspire them to write books about others who have contributed immensely towards the development of the country as a whole.
Apostle Goldman expressed the need for humility to love and seek the word of God in order to have abundant and greater peace to live on this earth.
On the way forward, Most Rev. Titus K. Awotwi Pratt, Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, said the late Rev. Dr. Ghartey, a Servant of God, made those around him celebrate the goodness of God.
Rev. Awotwi Pratt urged all especially sons and daughters of Effutu to buy copies of the book and read to enrich themselves with the great achievements of “Our Conquering King” who was indeed a Godly example and a unique Christian, to help them to live for Christ.
Right Rev. Dr. John Kweku Buabeng, Presiding Bishop of the Winneba Diocese of the Methodist Church of Ghana, who later launched the book, called on all to contribute positively towards the growth and development of the area and Ghana at large.
