Sunyani, Oct. 4, GNA - The Brong-Ahafo Chapter of the Health Service Workers Union (HSWU) of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) has organised a two-day workshop for its branch executives in the region.
Thirty participants drawn from the 21 branches in the Municipalities and Districts in the Region attended the event.
They were taken through the National Pension Act, workman's compensation law, effective communication skills and other labour related issues.
The participants were also trained on how to strengthen employer-employee relationship in work places.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency on the sideline of the training in Sunyani, Mr Anthony Dassah, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Industrial Relations Officer of HSWU, said the training was in fulfilment of the mandate of the Union.
Mr Dassah said there is the need to promote and deepen the existing cordial relationship between employers and employees to improve on productivity.
He said discipline at work places is a prerequisite tool for improved productivity and asked the union members to remain united and promote team work.
Mr Dassah entreated workers to pass through laid-down procedures in finding solutions to their grievances and avoid unnecessary backbiting and internal wrangling.
