Onyemso (E/R), Aug. 5, GNA - Nana Kwame Nti, the Krontihene of Agogo in the Ashanti Akim North District of the Eastern Region, has pleaded with the Kwahu East District Assembly to establish special taskforce to deal with owners of stray animals.
He said the taskforce should be tasked to enforce bye-laws that would punish owners of livestock, who allow their animals to stray.
Nana Nti, who made this known during the inauguration of a 48- unit shed at Onyemso said sanitation in the area was poor due to the lack of toilet facilities, incinerator and dustbins for the inhabitants.
He entreated the traditional authorities to avail lands for developmental projects such as schools, toilet facilities and potable water to improve the standards of living of the people.
He asked the authorities to deal with Fulani herdsmen, who allowed cattle to graze over farms.
Nana Daniel Owusu Mireku, the Onyemso Wirempem Hene, applauded the Assembly for the construction of the market centre, saying it would go a long way to promote the socio- economic activities of the people.
He urged the traders not to relent in paying their market tolls to the Assembly in order to extend more development projects to the area.
He pleaded with the Assembly to solve the unsatisfactory mobile telecommunication services in the area.
Mr Isaac Agyapong, the District Chief Executive said the Assembly was ready to work with stakeholders in executing developmental projects in the District.
He said the Assembly had plans of constructing the road from Oboyan to Asante Akyem to promote the movements of goods and services.
