Onyemso (E/R), Aug 02, GNA – A market built at Onyemso in the Kwahu East District to act as a catalyst for economic growth has been inaugurated at a ceremony.
The project was funded by the district assembly.
Mr. Isaac Agyapong, the District Chief Executive (DCE), who was on hand to perform the inauguration, announced plans to rehabilitate the road linking the area with the Asante-Akim North District through Oboyan.
That, he said would allow for the movement of goods and services to boost the local economies.
He encouraged the people to take advantage of the market to expand their economic activities to transform their lives.
The DCE used the occasion to assure them of his determination to work hard and with passion to bring development to the communities.
Nana Kwame Nti, Krontihene of Agogo in the Asante-Akim North, appealed to the assembly to act firmly to stop the nuisance and destruction of food crop farms by stray animals.
He asked that owners of such animals be made to pay the appropriate penalty to get them to do the right thing.
He added that bye-laws enacted by the assemblies needed to be rigidly enforced to bring some level of sanity.
Nana Owusu Mireku, the Onyemso Wirempemhene, applauded the assembly for the project.
He appealed for the extension of telecommunication companies to extend their services to the area.
