Kumasi, July 27, GNA – The Rotary Club of Kumasi East, has inducted its newly elected officers with a pledge to intensify the drive to bring change to the lives of people, particularly in the deprived communities.
Dr. Rudolph Adageba Kantum, the President, said it would continue to focus more energy and work with passion to make things better for the poor, the needy and the vulnerable in the society.
He would be running the affairs of the Club for the next 12 months with nine other officers.
Speaking after he had officially taken office, he said they would assist to provide projects in communities that would have lasting impact on the lives of the population.
They would make sure that every project started – school structures, water and sanitation facilities, were completed.
“Rotarians must use every opportunity to correct this and project our values of selflessness, truth and the general good of society”, he added.
Dr. Kantum said through the help of Rotarians across the world, poliomyelitis was now on the verge of eradication.
He urged the members to rededicate themselves to the service of humanity.
Mr. Kwame Kyeremateng Abrampah, the immediate past President, spoke of the achievements made under his watch and mentioned among these, food aid to malnourished children in the Northern Regions and the sinking of a borehole at Apeesi in the Kumasi Metropolis.
