Konongo (Ash), July 24, GNA – The ‘1987 Year Group’ of the Konongo-Odumasi Senior High School (SHS), has donated three large-size water storage tanks to their alma mater and appealed to the students to attend to their educational objectives.
Mr Frederick Agyarko Oduro, Spokesperson for the Group, said they should devote their time to learning in order to acquire the skills and expertise needed for them to survive.
“Do not waste the opportunity given you by your parents and guardians, but be determined to achieve your career goals through hard work and discipline”, he said.
The water storage tanks are meant to improve water stock in the school, which over the years has suffered acute water shortages, a situation which had become inimical to smooth academic activities.
Mr Agyarko Oduro reminded the students of the high reputation the school had built for itself in the past, and entreated them, therefore, to be law-abiding and stay away from practices that could tarnish their image.
He called on old students of the school, especially those living overseas to mobilize resources in aid of infrastructural development, saying a lot was expected of them to give back to the institution “which groomed and nurtured them”.
The Spokesperson assured the authorities of their continuous assistance to the school and called for a massive investment in education at all levels in the country in order to enhance the nation’s development efforts.
Mr Benjamin Kwaku Baah, Headmaster of the School, expressed gratitude to the old students for being responsive to the needs of their alma mater.
Education, he said, was a shared responsibility and appealed to stakeholders to play their respective roles to achieve stated goals.
The Group had earlier embarked on a health walk and encouraged the students to do same at their leisure time to boost their health.
