Accra, June 14, GNA - The Resurrection Power New Generation Church (RPNGC) has refurbished the room nine of the maternity ward (Yaa Asantewaa Ward) of the 37 Military Hospital at the cost of GH?70,000.00.
The refurbishment covered redesigning, painting as well as the provision of items such as two beds, bedside lockers, bed sheets, refrigerator, new furniture , LED television, decoder, air conditions and curtains.
Addressing the media at a handing over ceremony in Accra, Reverend Dr Anthony Kwadwo Boakye, the General Oversee of RPNGN, said the gesture was part of the Church’s effort to improve health care delivery at the hospital.
Rev Kwadwo Boakye commended the supervisors of the project for a good work done.
“This will also create conducive environment for pregnant women who will be admitted at the hospital, as it is one of the biggest hospitals in the country and capable of handling emergency cases,” he added.
The General Oversee on behalf of the entire Church expressed optimism that the upgrading of the ward would help improve maternal health care.
He said the Church through its spirit of voluntarism would continue to extend a helping hand to the 37 Military Hospital.
Colonel Michael Yeboah-Agyapong, Commanding Officer of the 37 Military Hospital, on behalf of the Management and Staff, expressed gratitude to Rev Kwadwo Boakye and the Church, for their tremendous assistance.
He said the quality of work done clearly showed how committed the Church was in supporting the Hospital.
The Commanding Officer appealed to benevolent individuals and organisations to emulate the kind gesture of RPNGN.
