Agogo (Ash), June 06, GNA – The Asante-Akim North District Director of Education, Mr. Ernest Afari, has warned teachers to stay off the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) centres.
He said they had no business going near such places and that those who did could run into trouble.
Mr. Afari gave the caution when he toured some of the centres to find how things were going.
A total of 1,153 candidates, made up of 612 boys and 531 girls from 36 public and 11 private Junior High Schools (JHS) registered to sit the examination in the district.
The Education Director called for everybody to ensure that the rules and regulations were strictly observed to protect the integrity of the examination.
He expressed satisfaction with the comportment of the candidates, supervisors and invigilators and asked that this was sustained throughout the period of the examination.
