Accra, May 23, GNA - RADComm, a communication firm, is hosting the maiden edition of the National Communications Honour (Summit and Awards), to recognise giants in the communication industry, for significant contribution.
A statement issued by Mr Richmond Anim Damoah, the Chief Executive Officer and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, said the event was aimed at honouring individuals and groups who have made significant strides in the communication industries.
The statement said: “the National Communication Honours is a top-notch communications forum and awards programme developed by RADComm, to champion communications and development in Ghana.”
The maiden edition of the National Communication Honours, which is on the theme: “The Impact of Communications on the Economic Growth and Development of Ghana,” is scheduled for Friday, September 22.
The statement said the event would be characterised by a summit in the morning and the awards held in the evening.
“The conference will feature inspirational presentations from a number of high profile speakers.
The conference targeted: “Media practitioners, telecommunications companies, information technology companies, corporate affairs directors and individuals, individuals at the corporate communications departments in organisations, public relations practitioners, journalists, marketers, advertisers and students or young communicators, will serve as a platform where communications impact to the development of Ghana will be discussed.”
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will be the guest of honour at the awards.
“It would serve as a springboard for many who aspire to reach higher heights with their works, efforts and contribution in the media and communications industry in Africa and Ghana in particular.
It would also serve as a national platform for recognising the great works and impact of communication practitioners in Ghana,” the statement said.
Mr Damoah said nominations for the awards would be opened in June for onwards selections and therefore encouraged individuals to file when nominations are opened to potential awardees.
He noted that the event promised to celebrate and reward excellent communication companies, teams and individuals in the field of communications across Ghana.
Some of the awards categories to be awarded include “Most Eminent Media School of The Year, Most Eminent Advertising & PR Company of the Year, Most Eminent Media Group of The Year, Most Eminent Telecommunications Company of the Year, Total Communications Company of the Year, Brand Ambassador of the Year and Most Influential Media Personality”.
“It also include Most Eminent Model Agency of The Year, Best Corporate Website of The Year, Eminent Morning Shows of the Year, Brand Manager of the Year, PR Practitioner/Professional of the Year and many more.”
