Nkoranza (BA), May 19, GNA - Mr Kwasi Owusu, a-65-year-old famer at Nkoranza has commended government for efforts being made to control illegal mining activities in the country.
He said the bold steps taken by the government were in the right direction, as illegal mining has become a national canker.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr Owusu appealed to Ghanaians to support the efforts being made by the government in that direction.
He said such efforts were also required to fight against the uncontrolled activities of Fulani herdsmen, who use their cattle to graze and destroy farms and properties of others.
Mr Owusu said it was unfortunate that the country has not been able to control the influx and unscrupulous activities of Fulani herdsmen, and expressed the hope that the new government would stand firm and bring the situation under control.
He said government alone could not facilitate accelerated national development and entreated Ghanaians to do away with partisan politics and rally behind the government.
