Accra, May 15, GNA - The Greater Accra Police Regional Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Nana Osabarimah Asare Pinko has called on the Police to continue to work harder since hard work does not break bones.
The Regional Commander said this during the annual-get-together named “2016 WASSA” of the Adenta-Abokobi Command.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mr. Joseph Antwi Gyawu, the Adenta-Abokobi Divisional Commander said the year under review faced a lot of challenges in crime combat in the area.
He noted that the Division had become one of fastest developing in the Region with the upsurge of armed-robbery, car snatching and land guard activities, trespassing of land, fraud and stealing.
The Commander noted that his jurisdiction had become a flash point and “a headache for the police administration”. He explained that it took the combined efforts of the Regional Command and the Division to bring down the menace to a minimal.
Speaking on lack of accommodation, the Divisional Commander said his men would have to travel from long distances like Kasoa and Nsawam to come to work, so there was the need for the provision of accommodation.
On vehicles, he said Adenta-Abokobi Division has one of the largest coverage and therefore needed more vehicles to cope with work.
He appealed to corporate bodies and NGOs to come to their aid, adding that more personnel should be posted to his Division to augment the work.
Six Police Officers who excelled in their duties during the period under review were awarded certificates of honour.
