Koforidua, May 15, GNA - The Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Church has set up a development fund to support its members in distress.
The Right Reverend Michael Agyakwa Bossman, the Diocesan Bishop, said they would also draw on it to pay for the construction of places of worship for deprived societies of the church.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the situation, where the diocese relied on institutions outside the church to assist its members in times of emergency – disaster.
That, he said, could not continue and that they should be able to respond promptly to provide relief – lend a helping hand to people during their difficult moments.
Bishop Bossman added that the church was eager not only to see the members grow spiritually but their material needs as well.
