Nsaba (C/R), May 13, GNA - Members of the Agona East Assembly have unanimously approved the nomination of Mr Dennis Armah-Frempong as the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area.
All 29 members of the Assembly voted to confirm the DCE at an emergency meeting held at Agona Nsaba in the Central Region.
The programme was supervised by Ms Patience Shebrah, the Agona East District Director of the Electoral Commission.
Mr Kwamena Duncan, the Central Regional Minister, commended the Police and other security agencies for protecting lives and property and praised the Assembly for its patriotism.
He asked the DCE to work to enhance the wellbeing of the people and not to use the political backgrounds of communities to deny them of development projects.
He said the Government under President Nana Akufo-Addo would fulfil the one-million-dollar grant earmarked for Agona East to help in the growth of small and medium businesses to reduce poverty.
Mr Duncan said it was time to for the implementation of the one district one factory policy to ensure jobs for the unemployed youth.
Mr Armah-Frempong, thanked the President for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work hard to bring development to the district.
Present were the Omanhene of Nsaba Traditional Area, Osabarimba Bishop Afriyie Boappiah II, Okofo Katakyi Nyarkoh Eku X, Omanhene of Agona Nyakropm Traditional Area, queenmothers and constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party.
