Accra, May 8, GNA - Enos Kwame Adepa, head coach of Wa All Star has congratulated Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi on his appointment as the first Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Mr Nyantakyi, who is the President of Ghana Football Association and a FIFA Executive Board member, was named as CAF’s second in command on Monday at Manama, Bahrain.
In an interview with the GNA Sports, Coach Adepa said Ghanaians must give the necessary support to Kwesi Nyantakyi to succeed at CAF.
“I want to say a very big congratulation to Nyantakyi and Ghanaians as a whole, we must see this achievement as an honour to the nation and we must support him because if he fails it would affect the entire nation.
“Mr Nyantakyi has been given the nod, but we should know that it is because of his hard work and determination over the past years. A lot of things were taken into consideration before his approval by the Executive Committee.
“Ghanaians must start appreciating him, if you travel outside Ghana, people appreciate him more than we do here and I think its bad.
“Ahmad Ahmad and the executive committee of CAF did a thorough research on how Nyantakyi has steered the affairs of Ghana Football. I am very sure his hard work for Ghana influenced this appointment.
“He should not be there just to add up to the numbers, he must know that the African football fraternity expect more from the new administration but I am confident that he would make Ghana proud at CAF,” coach Enos Adepa said.
