Duanyaw-Nkwanta, (B/A), May 5, GNA – The Tano North District Assembly in Brong-Ahafo Region on Friday confirmed Mr Ernest Kwarteng, the President’s nominee, as the District Chief Executive.
Mr Kwarteng, a lecturer at the Sunyani Technical University, had an overwhelming approval of 97.8 percent of the 35-member assembly.
There was, however, a spoiled ballot paper, in the election, conducted and supervised by the official of the Electoral Commission amidst tight security.
Mr Kwarteng expressed appreciation to the assembly members and pleaded with them to foster a united front so that with understanding they could initiate programmes that would push forward development.
He asked the assembly members to be prompt and contribute at meetings so that the immediate needs of their constituents would be easily identified and addressed.
Mr Kwarteng expressed gratitude to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his nomination, saying with unity of purpose, the assembly would be able to implement the policies of government for accelerated growth and development.
