Accra, May 3, GNA - The Jesus Cares Gospel Centre is to put up an ultra-modern church complex, a school and a hospital to cater for the spiritual, educational and the health needs of the poor and the needy.
The projects would be financed through voluntary contributions and fundraising activities and are expected to be completed by 2020.
The Reverend George Obeng, Head Pastor of the Centre, disclosed this at the launch of the 10th Anniversary celebration of the church at East Legon in Accra.
Activities planned for the celebration are radio talk show, evangelism, clean-up exercises, fundraising, donation, games and free health screening.
Rev. Obeng said the church, which started with 10 members, now has a membership of 300 and had been able to open three branches.
He said the church had also set up a widow foundation and had launched a charity project to support widows and the community in which it operated.
Touching on the illegal mining which had bedeviled the nation, Rev. Obeng expressed regret that some traditional leaders and high profile politicians were allegedly involved in the practice.
He urged the Government to put in place a mechanism that would help regularise the operation of miners.
