Takoradi, April 17, GNA - Christians have been entreated to emulate the gesture of love showed by Mary Magdalene towards Jesus so as to inherit the Kingdom of God.
Reverend Father Daniel Prl, the Priest in charge of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Anaji, a suburb of Takoradi, who made the call in a sermon to mark the Resurrection Sunday, explained that, Mary Magdalene was the first to visit the tomb of Jesus Christ after being laid to rest because of the love she had for him, and that Christians should also be the first to show their love towards the gospel and their neighbours.
Father Prl, who based his sermon on the theme, “He must rise from the dead " (John 20, 1-9), said Mary Magdalene was not discouraged nor deterred by the big stone in front of the tomb of Jesus or the time of day because she had faith unlike many Christians of this century who often lacked faith in God.
He urged Christians not to lose faith in God regardless of their sins because by his death and resurrection, Christians are a new creation and saved from all sins.
Father Prl also implored Christians not to hesitate but to sacrifice and work towards the propagation of the gospel as Jesus did more than 2000 years ago.
Majority of the congregation were clad in white attire to signify their joy of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
