Accra, April 17, GNA- Apostle Joseph Felix Kwesi Mensah, the Chairman of the Apostolic Council of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) has urged Christians to pursue holiness in order to gratify God.
He said Christ bought the Church with His blood and therefore the Church must emulate His holiness.
Apostle Mensah made the appeal on Sunday in his sermon at the end of the 2017 Easter Convention of the GCCI Tema District.
He called on Christians to follow peace with all men, and holiness; adding that "without holiness, no man shall see God".
The four-day Convention on the theme "Imitating Jesus Christ", was attended by the five assemblies in the Tema District of GCCI: Grace Temple, Maranatha, Tema Main, Tema Newtown and Prampram.
Speaking on the topic "Imitating Christ through holiness for victory", Apostle Mensah said holy living brings honour to God and victory to the Christian.
He cautioned that sinful living affects the sinner, his family, the Church and the nation.
He cited the sin of Achan in the Book of Joshua in the Bible, which brought shame and disgrace to the nation of Israel.
Apostle Mensah advised pastors and other men of God to desist from self-pontification and focus on propagating Christ centred gospel messages.
He said ‘Jesus was the owner of the Church and therefore, he deserves the first place and honour.’
