Accra, April 17, GNA - The Aniamorsi Family at New Ningo, in the Ningo/ Prampram District of the Greater Accra Region, are threatening court action to stop the rampant encroachment of their lands.
Mr Joseph Kwei, a spokesman told the Ghana News Agency in Accra that he and other members of the Family had made a formal report to the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards Bureau, over the presence of some personnel of the Rapid Development Force at the encroached sites.
He said for strange reasons the personnel sometimes numbering four, from Monday, April 10 were spotted at the sites.
Mr Kwei said on September 6, 2013, the Family sold the land to one Mrs Josephine Emma Abalo, a business woman whose land has also been encroached by a lady who claimed she bought the land from the late New Ningo Chief.
Mr Kwei said although a cadastral plan numbered Z 44150, issued by the Survey and Mapping Department on November 18, 2013 covering the land was issued to Mrs Abalo, the woman whose name was not disclosed, has sold it to a businessman, who is building on the 0. 731-acre encroached land, hence the need for the Family to go to court to stop such acts of impunity.
“Ningo lands are family lands and not stool lands,” he said.
