Kewku pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail, by the court.
The case has since been adjourned to May 8.
Prosecuting, Detective Chief Inspector of Police Isaac Agbemehia told the court that the complainant, Martha, resides at Dome while the accused is a businessman.
He said in September 2016, the accused person collected the amount of €2,200.00 from the complainant to secure a Schengen Visa for her.
He told the court that the accused person collected the money with a false representation that, he would secure the visa for her at all cost failure to which he would refund the money to her in full.
The prosecution said Kweku failed to secure the visa and also refused to return the money. The complainant then reported the matter to the police and the accuse person was arrested.
During interrogation the accused person admitted that, he took the said money from the complainant but he could not secure the visa on time and as such the complainant pulled out of the process.
