Ofankor (GAR), March 22, GNA – The teachers of Ofankor M/A Basic School near Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region beat their outgoing students 4-2 in a football match.
The match is organised every year by the school to hunt for football talents and also to entertain the final year students.
Ishmael Amissah scored two goals through spot-kicks whilst Sampah Dacosta and Sowah Christian scored each for the teachers.
David Amoako and Neequaye Ebenezer scored the two goals for the students through a penalty and a header.
In the women encounter the female teachers and their student girls drew 2-2.
Nii Klotey Boi II, the Chief of Ofankor and the Presiding Member of the Ga West Municipal Assembly, who was the Chairman of the occasion, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency urged the teachers to allow boys and girls who are interested and talented to develop their skills.
He said this would enable them to become football and other sports professionals in future.
Nii Klotey Boi advised the outgoing students to be respectful to their parents and guardians as that would encourage them to invest in the continuation of their education.
He commended Madam Gifty Konadu Owusu, the Head-teacher of the School and Mr Benjamin Djan, the Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association for the organisation of the event.
