Ejisu (Ash) Mar 20, GNA - Mrs. Lucy Amanda Gyagadu, Ashanti Regional Chairperson of the Ghana Association of Teachers (GNAT), has encouraged women to take advantage of technology to lift themselves out of poverty.
They should refuse to be left behind by globalization – they must become part of it.
She was addressing members of the Ejisu-Juaben branch of the GNAT Ladies as part of activities to celebrate the World Women’s Day in Ejisu.
Mrs. Gyagadu urged, particularly female teachers, to show strong interest in the acquisition of information, communication and technology (ICT) skills.
They have to lead change in the society – they must never accept to be defined by stereotypes.
She also spoke of the need for them to fight for leadership positions to influence policy decisions in favor of women and children.
