The equipment are three electric beds, boxes of gloves, eight walking aids, two electric bed side tables with lamps, two mattresses, four boxes of cannular, wheel chairs, boxes of needle, four plastic chairs, and theater towels.
Making the presentation, the MP said during the 2016 electioneering, she toured Agona Swedru Municipal Hospital, health centres and CHPS compounds in the constituency.
According to the MP, she noticed that the facilities at the centres were not encouraging and woefully inadequate and promised to improve upon them if she got the nod.
The MP said she imported health equipment from United States to support health delivery system in the constituency.
She appealed to the authorities of the centre to take care of the equipment given to them to improve quality health care of the people.
The MP said the equipment would be distributed to Agona Swedru Municipal hospital, Agona Abodom, Agona Nkum, Agona Otenkorang and other CHPs Compounds in the constituency.
Mr Asare Amankwa, a Physician Assistant of Agona Nyakrom Health Centre enumerated the numerous challenges facing the health facility, which impeded quality health delivery.
He said more than a year ago no money had been given to the health centre from the National Health Insurance Scheme claims, making it difficult to procure drugs to treat the patients.
Mr Amankwa spoke about the alarming rate in which land of the centre was being encroached by private developers.
He appealed to the Omanhene, Municipal Assembly to intervene to salvage the land, adding that the health centre could not undertake any future expansion projects.
Mr Amankwa said the centre had no ambulance to make emergency referral cases to Agona Swedru, Winneba and Accra.
Okofo Katakyi Nyarkoh Eku X, Omanhene of Nyakrom, who received the hospital equipment on behalf of the health officials, thanked the MP for her concern to improve health development within a few months of her election.
The Omanhene warned the encroachers of the land of the health facility to desist from the act before the law caught up with them.
He gave a one week ultimatum to encroachers to stop developing the land or he would mobilise the two Asafo companies at Nyakrom to demolish their buildings.
The Omanhene reiterated his call on the government to create Agona Central District from Agona West Municipal Assembly to speed up development.
