Tamale, Mar 16, GNA – The Dabokpa Technical Institute in Tamale has been closed down following unruly behaviour by the final year students.
Alhaji Abdulai Yahaya, Board Chairman of Dabokpa Technical Institute, who briefed GNA in Tamale on Thursday, said the final year students on Tuesday (March 14, 2017) poured away food prepared for them by the school and engaged in a confrontation with school authorities after they (school authorities) demanded an explanation for their behaviour.
Alhaji Yahaya said the incident raised security concerns forcing the Regional Director of Education to order the closure of the school on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, whiles a team of police personnel had been deployed to the school’s premises to ensure security.
GNA has gathered that the first and second year students will soon be recalled to the school whiles final year students may remain in the house to write the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examinations, which begin later this month.
