London, March 15, GNA/ dpa – English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur confirmed Tuesday that Harry Kane has ligament damage in his right ankle, but the injury isn't considered to be as serious as a similar one the striker suffered earlier this season.
Kane limped off after seven minutes of Spurs' 6-0 FA Cup win over Millwall on Sunday after rolling his ankle under a challenge from Jake Cooper.
“Harry will continue to be assessed by our medical staff while he undergoes his rehabilitation at our training centre,” Tottenham said on their website on Tuesday.
The England international sustained an ankle injury against Sunderland in September which sidelined him for seven weeks.
"Always come back stronger from injuries and will be working hard with the medical staff to do that again,” Kane said on Twitter. “Thanks for all the messages.”
Kane has 24 total goals this season and is the Premier League's joint top scorer with Everton's Romelu Lukaku on 19.
