This is to enable women to play a more proactive role as agents of change in the socio-economic development of the country.
Mr Darfour was speaking at a programme organised by the Department of Gender, Children and Social Protection in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, Ms Gifty Twum-Ampofo at Kukurantumi, as part of activities to observe the International Women’s Day in the Region.
He therefore called for efforts to step up gender equality activities in the country.
The Regional Director of Department of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Mrs Christiana Ankamah advised women in the country to motivate themselves and also be bold to stand up for change and make effective contribution to the development of the country.
