Court jails herbalist two years

Tarkwa, April 10, GNA - A Tarkwa circuit court has sentenced a herbalist to two years imprisonment for having carnal knowledge of an 11 year-old girl at Aboso Nadieso in the Prestea Huni/ Valley district.Noah Niamor, 22, who is also a farmer, was convicted on his own plea.Prosecuting Chief Inspector Edward Paddy told the court presided over by Mr. Samuel Obeng Diawuo that the complainant Janet Arthur is the mother of the victim who is a primary five pupil.He said on Friday April 4, this year, at about 1500 hours, the victim was at home when the convict came to call her to his house which is some few distance from where she lived.When they got to the house, Noah asked the victim if she wants to be intelligent and she said yes.The convict then asked her name and when she mentioned it, Noah picked some cowries and started tossing it whilst mentioning the victims name several times.He said after a while Noah poured schnapps in a glass and mixed a black substance (mortor) and asked the victim to drink it.Inspector Paddy said when the victim refused to take the substance, the convict threatened her that if she does not comply, she will go mad and so she took it.Noah repeated this process four times after which he brought a red cloth and spread it on the floor and had sex with the victim on the cloth.After a while, he left the room and the victim managed to walk home but some few minutes later she collapsed and was rushed to the Aboso clinic.The Prosecutor said when the victim was revived, she narrated her ordeal to her mother and she also informed the unite committee members and they went and arrested the convict and took the exhibit to the Aboso police station.He said Noah was re-arrested and after investigation he was charged with the offense.GNA Read Full Story
