Ghana Armed Forces marks 67th anniversary of end of World War 1
Accra, Nov 07, GNA -The world would on Sunday, November 11 mark the 67th anniversary of the end of the First World War with the signing of the armistice.
The day would also be used to remember all those who died during the First and the Second World Wars.
A message copied to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday and signed by Lieutenant Commander V.A. Arhin, Public Relations officer, Ghana Armed Forces, said the day would be commemorated in Accra with a Remembrance Day Service at the Christiansburg Commonwealth War cemetery Accra and in and the Garrisons.
The statement appealed to all Ghanaians to observe a one minute silence at 1100 hours (1100am) on Sunday and also where there are sirens, it is expected that they should be sounded in honour of the war dead.
“It is expected that at the appointed time all people cease whatever they might be doing and stand still for one minute of silence when they hear the siren,” the statement said.
