NRSC presents vehicles to the Regions

Accra, October 22, GNA -The Management of the National Road Safety (NRSC) on Monday presented 10 pickup vehicles to the regional offices to build their capacities. Mr Noble John Appiah, Executive Director of NRSC, said the vehicles were funded by government and the World Bank under the Transport Project System. Mr Appiah said it was the expectation of the Commission that the vehicles would revive the visibility of the Commission in speeding up its work to improve road safety. Mr Sabastian Akyeampong, Volta Regional Manager for NRSC, thanked the government for the initiatives adding that it would make sure the vehicles were well maintained. The NRSC was established by an Act of Parliament (Act 567) in 1999 with the mandate to develop and promote road safety and coordinate policies in relation to nationwide road safety education and advise the Minister of Transport on the formation of road safety issues.
