The Ghana government says it will publish the full list of all oil contracts that the country has signed by the end of the year, according to a report by the Natural Resources Governance Institute (NRGI) citing the deputy Minister of Energy, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam.
According to the report, the government will develop a publicly available petroleum register containing the full text of all petroleum agreements, licenses, permits and authorizations.
Dr. Adam made the disclosure at the Africa Open Data Conference in Accra.
The register will link to an open data portal with further information on projects in Ghana’s growing petroleum industry, he reportedly said.
Ghana started oil production in 2010, but it is not known how many petroleum agreements the country has signed to date, because they have all not been made public.
