Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has officially inaugurated his campaign team and manifesto committees in a bid to kickstart his 2024 campaign.
With a call for unity and dedication, Dr. Bawumia expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure victory against the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming December general elections.
During his address at the ceremony, Dr. Bawumia criticized the NDC for lacking a concrete message and instead relying on unrealistic promises to win the elections.
He emphasized that the NPP’s track record and performance in various sectors would ultimately triumph over the opposition’s claims.
Dr. Bawumia questioned the credibility of the NDC’s promises, stating, “If we write an exam, we will beat them in every sector, meanwhile they are going round convincing Ghanaians that they are better than us. What sort of Mathematics is that?”
Chairman of the Manifesto Committee, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, stressed the importance of unity within the campaign.
He emphasized that the campaign should revolve around the flagbearer and not individual interests, calling on both teams to work together towards victory.
Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu assured the public that the committee was fully prepared and committed to delivering on their mandate.
Chairman and Strategist of the Campaign Team, Dan Botwe, urged all team members to fully embrace the mission and ideas of the campaign while avoiding division. He emphasized the need for a united front, highlighting that success depends on the collective efforts of all individuals involved.
With the official introduction of Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team, the NPP aims to rally their supporters and present a united front to voters.
As the election season approaches, the party hopes to highlight their achievements and plans for the future, while countering the opposition’s claims. Breaking the eight-year cycle and securing victory in the 2024 elections remain the primary goals for the NPP and their newly inaugurated campaign team.
