Barikisu Losina
The former District Chief Executive of Sawla-Tuna-Kalba, Barikisu Losina, has been involved in a car crush after she was sacked by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
DAILY GUIDE understands that the former DCE was traveling with her child and a driver to Tamale when the incident happened.
They were, however, rushed to the St. Anne’s Hospital in Damongo for treatment and have since been discharged.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known as at the time of filing this report.
This follows few days after her removal from office with some 23 other Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) by President Akufo-Addo across the country.
According to the President, their sacking was in accordance with Article 243(3) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(3) (b) of the Local Government Act, 2014, Act (936) and requested that they give immediate effect to the directive.
President Akufo-Addo, has since nominated their replacement with immediate effect.
“Pursuant to my letter of 2nd February 2024, and in accordance with article 243 (1) of the Constitution, I have made the following nominations to the office of Chief Executive of the following Municipal and District Assemblies, pending their approval by their respective assemblies.”
