Black Sherif
Ghanaian rap sensation Mohammed Ismail Sherif, known in the music scene as Black Sherif, last Thursday released the official video for ‘Oil In My Head’, one of his favourite songs on his critically acclaimed debut album titled ‘The Villain I Never Was’.
“Oil in my head, everything I touch is blessed, all I see is blessings, and no man can stop this,” the RBA/Empire signee sang in the song’s chorus.
The new video is expected to win and propel him to new music audiences across the African continent and beyond.
The video puts the song to celebratory use and highlights Sherif’s resilience and hard work.
It shows moments from his past as a struggling artiste striving for a shot at fame and success. The cuts include an audition to participate in MTN’s Hitmaker series, his historical Artiste of the Year win at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), and then shows five independent versions of the artiste at a dining table.
“I get up and come for more,” he sings to complement the point of the images.
At yet another meaningful part, silverware on the dining table transforms into goldware.
Finally, towards the end of the clip, the sensational performer is captured levitating, approaching where birds belong, and what seems like a seagull flies past.
Black Sherif is currently a world phenomenon as he is celebrated around the world for his music. The 21-year-old gained prominence in 2021 with the release of his ‘First Sermon’. He has since not looked back.
