The suspects
Information reaching DGN Online indicates that three persons are in the grips of the Tamale Police Command for allegedly defrauding several market women in Tamale in the Northern Region.
The suspects Fuseini Adams 49 ,Alhassan Karim 54 and Saharatu Adams Lizy 39 bought maize, beans from the market women in Tamale to the tune of GH 220,00 (22 billion old Ghana cedis) between 2017 and 2018 with the pretext that they would bring the money in two weeks time.
DGN Online understands that later the suspects went into hiding.
A complaint was made at the police station and the police started a search for the suspects until on 8/3/2019 when Police had information that suspects have been arrested by the BNI in Kumasi.
Police together with the complaints went to Kumasi and brought the three suspects to Tamale on 11/03/19 to assist in investigations.
The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yussif Tanko who confirmed the arrest to DGN Online said the case docket has been forwarded to the Attorney General Office in Tamale for the suspects to be prosecuted at high court.
According to DSP Tanko, the suspect Saharatu Adams Lizy is a professional fraudster and has duped a lot of people in Kumasi and Ejura.
He disclosed that ever since the news of the arrest of suspect Saharatu went on the media, a lot of people are trooping to the police station to lodge a complaint against her.
