Inna Patty, Miss Ghana 2004 and CEO of Exclusive Events Ghana, has urged corporate Ghana to support pageants in the country, especially the Miss Ghana Foundation.
Inna Patty was speaking during a groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday to start the construction of an additional multi-purpose structure at the Child Protection Centre by Omenaa Mensah Foundation for Don Bosco Technical & Vocational Training Institute in Ashaiman, Tema.
She emphasized that pageantry is beyond scouting for beautiful ladies and crowning them.
According to her, there is a social intervention wing of the pageants such as embodied by the Miss Ghana Foundation that has contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of Ghana.
She said, “Plans are in place to carry out another magnificent project to commemorate our diamond jubilee celebrations and we shall be knocking on your doors.”
Inna Patty was a special guest of honour invited by the Salesians of Don Bosco Anglophone West Africa Province.
There is already a female hostel on the land which Inna Patty helped to build. However, there is more than enough land for additional projects. The new building will serve the Child Protection Centre, and it is being funded by Omenaa Mensah, her foundation along with her friends from Poland.
“I’m always humbled by such kind gestures and the opportunity to support a worthy cause, especially to empower our youth through education. I thank Almighty Allah for blessing me with opportunity to be able to extend support to the most vulnerable in our society. I also thank ‘angels’ such as the former Director of Tema Development Corporation (TDC), Ms Mansa Bansa; MD of Cal Bank, Mr Frank Adu; former MD of Stanbic Bank, Bill Thomas, amongst others, who made our dream a reality 13 years ago,” Inna Patty said.
Inna Patty who was accompanied by Mr Ghana Ambassador, Archibald Quaye, also urged the beneficiaries “to always remember to be considerate, helpful, love their neighbours and to remember that whomever much is given, from him or her much is expected.”
The PDO Director, Father Chris Nizniak, and Father Piotr Wojnarowski thanked Inna Patty for the kind support she has been extending to Don Bosco for many years now.
To celebrate the occasion, there were beautiful performances from the children at the Child Protection Centre. Also as a token of appreciation, one of the children presented a sash to Inna Patty and Ms Mansa Bansa.
